The revalidation of existing party members and registration of new members are currently in progress nationwide. The deadline of the exercise was scheduled on February 23, 2020, but due to pressure from interested and yet to be registered members, the party has released an official statement tagged “APC extends membership registration/revalidation and update exercise for three weeks” channeled toward the extension of the registration exercise.
It was gathered by RoyalNG that a plethora of reasons warrant the extension of the exercise as many states failed to start on time, thus additional time should be allotted. The progressive situation room confirm this report under the leadership of the National secretary of the party John Akpanudoedehe.
This extension has triggered reactions and instant answers from opposition party PDP labeling the action as “Fabricated register”. It was further stated that All Progressive Congress membership registration is not credible as Nigerians are being lured with an N10000 credit alert after the registration exercise.
In a counter-report released through the National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, on Thursday, the target goal of the ruling party is to inflate figures so it can boost 2023 presidential ambition.
Kol alogbondiyan said: “Our party (the PDP) urges the APC leadership to listen to the voice of reason coming from elders of their party like former Governor Bisi Akande, and end this dance of shame.”
The ruling party APC houses many top politicians in Nigeria with a plan to integrating the youth into the system.
